Stephen Howie

Born in the early 80s, Stephen grew up in the Scottish West Coast town of Saltcoats, listening to the likes of Shalamar, Earth Wind & Fire and Kool & The Gang. His Mother’s partner John was a soul and funk DJ in the West of Scotland and various venues in Spain, and John’s musical influence clearly rubbed off.

A Christmas present sealed Stephen’s musical fate – a 3 cd compilation of Earth Wind and Fire from his Dad on repeat resulted in  a healthy obsession with the history of dance music and the Grooveline Radio was born.
