Saffron Music Launches Vinyl-Focused DJ Workshops for Marginalised Groups
Saffron Music has announced a new series of online DJ workshops, titled Art of Analogue, focusing on vinyl DJing techniques.
These workshops are designed to support women, non-binary, trans, and gender non-conforming individuals. The initiative is in collaboration with Audio-Technica and is part of Saffron’s Mix Nights Online programme.
The three-part series will run from May to July and will feature sessions led by different hosts. The first workshop, scheduled for 23 May, will be conducted by Daniel Archer, focusing on the basics of vinyl mixing.
The second session on 24 June, hosted by NikNak, will delve into turntable culture and creative techniques like scratching. The final session on 30 July, led by Tina Edwards, will explore how vinyl DJing fosters community through radio and live shows.
Access to the workshops is free for members of Saffron’s online community, with individual tickets priced at £8.30 for non-members. There is also a pay-what-you-can option for those who cannot afford the ticket price.
