Nightclub Offers Lollipops to Curb Noise Complaints

A nightclub is handing out lollipops to clubbers as part of efforts to curb noise complaints following its extended opening hours.

The Leeds city centre venue was granted a later licence allowing it to operate until 4:00 AM on weekdays and 5:00 AM on weekends. Concerns were raised during the licensing hearing about potential noise disturbances for residents in a nearby apartment block. In response, the venue announced measures to address these issues, including giving complimentary lollipops to customers to encourage quieter behaviour as they leave.

Operations Director David Nejrup explained the reasoning behind the lollipop initiative, stating that it has successfully reduced noise levels at other venues across the UK. Additional noise-reducing measures include the installation of sound insulation on the dancefloor and relocating the outdoor smoking area.

Home and Carousel opened last year in the former premises of Tiger Tiger Leeds and operates as a multi-purpose venue, combining a vintage arcade bar and a nightclub. The venue’s licence extension aims to keep pace with a growing trend of later openings among Leeds’ nightlife establishments.
