Brighton's Pryzm Nightclub to Reopen

Brighton’s Pryzm nightclub is set to reopen this Friday following a prolonged closure due to serious structural issues at the Kingswest Centre. The venue was forced to shut in October 2024 after engineers identified that the building’s external walls were at risk of collapse.

The closure impacted several businesses, including Odeon Cinema and Costa, after safety concerns led to warnings against walking near the walls facing King’s Road and West Street. The Odeon reopened earlier this month on February 7, marking the first step in bringing the venue back into use.

Pryzm’s general manager, Karl Ryan, confirmed the reopening, stating that the team had worked closely with the landlord to ensure the venue could welcome back guests safely. The club will resume operations with a full lineup of events, including performances from Bongo’s Bingo and Dreamboys.

The owners of the Kingswest Centre, Matsim, previously acknowledged the severity of the structural problems, describing the external walls as unstable and in need of urgent repairs.
