Is A Facebook DJ Set ban coming?

Is A Facebook DJ Set ban coming?

DJs haven’t had a particularly good 2020. With Coronavirus pretty much wiping out earning potential, many have turned to Facebook to share their music with their audiences – but is that about to come to an abrupt end too?

Facebook has updated its terms and conditions to add the following restriction from 1st October 2020:

“You may not use videos on our Products to create a music listening experience … If you use videos on our Products to create a music listening experience for yourself or for others, your videos will be blocked and your page, profile or group may be deleted. This includes Live.”

Facebook’s message is clear: Their platform is for sharing with family and friends, not for sharing music – unless of course you’re big enough to get an exception to the rules! So, what can we do instead?

Get your mix aired on Passion Radio

Passion Radio broadcasts to a potential audience of 620,000 adults across major cities on DAB Digital Radio and the whole country on smart speaker, the radioplayer app and online at www.passionradio.co.uk

We’ve got big name DJs resident in our schedule every weekend, including Roger Sanchez on Friday nights, Ferry Corsten and Hed Kandi on Saturday nights and Chicane on Sunday nights.

We’re now looking for DJ sets to air nightly across the UK. We’d love to get your 30min classic set on the radio. What’s more is we’ll pay you for your mixes – we know DJ income has dropped dramatically and we want to help you out by rewarding you for your talents and skills as well as sharing them with our audience.

How to get your mix on air:

  • Take a listen to Passion Radio and get a feel for the music we play and the audience we serve. You can listen online here, on the radioplayer app by searching Passion Radio, or tuning in on DAB Digital Radio in Portsmouth, Glasgow, Birmingham and Cambridge.

  • Craft a 30 minute mix of your favourite classic dance floorfillers and record it as a WAV file 44.1kHz 16bit (CD Quality).

  • Make sure you have a full track-listing featuring Artist, Title, Record Company and duration for each track played.

  • Drop us a line via our facebook page or via our website contact page to discuss delivery, terms and broadcast details

We look forward to hearing from you and getting you on air on Passion Radio!
