Defected Celebrates Frankie Knuckles with Compilation

Defected Records is set to honour the late Frankie Knuckles, a Chicago house legend, by releasing a special vinyl edition of his 2015 compilation ‘Frankie Knuckles Volume One’ and ‘Two’. This release comes as part of the label’s ‘House Masters’ series, aiming to celebrate Knuckles on the tenth anniversary of his passing. The vinyl editions, marking their first official release since the CD version sold out and digital versions became unavailable due to licensing issues, are slated for release in May.

The compilations feature a mix of Knuckles’ classics, including ‘It’s Hard Sometime’ and ‘Too Many Fish’, along with remixes for artists like Hercules & Love Affair and Loose Ends. ‘Volume Two’ continues with hits like ‘The Whistle Song’ and ‘Workout’, plus remixes of Candi Staton’s ‘Hallelujah Anyway’ and First Choice’s ‘Let No Man Put Asunder’.
